Electrical Conductivity

Electrically conductive SMART Silicone combines elasticity with functional signal transmission directly within the material. It enables applications such as the transfer of data and electrical signals, heatable silicone seals, as well as use as an EMC-shielding component in compact and flexible systems.

This creates flexible, robust, and durable components that not only fulfill mechanical tasks but simultaneously serve as a functional medium for electrical signals, data, or shielding. The electrical conductivity is specifically adjustable and can be precisely tailored to the respective application.

Transfer of data and electrical signals

Electrically conductive silicone enables the targeted routing of electrical signals and serves as a physical carrier medium for digital information. Transmission in flexible, movable, or deformable systems becomes possible.

Heatable seals and hoses

Through electrically conductive structures or integrated heating elements, SMART Silicone can transfer heat in a targeted manner.

Such solutions are particularly suited for applications with extreme temperature conditions or high hygiene requirements, such as heatable seals or hoses in laboratory and refrigeration technology. A typical field of application is, for example, ultra-low temperature freezers.

EMC shielding

Conductive SMART Silicone can be used to shield components from electromagnetic radiation. It reduces electromagnetic interference (EMI) by dissipating electromagnetic fields, thereby enabling reliable decoupling of sensitive components.

This property is particularly relevant for enclosure sealing, for instance in medical technology, aerospace, or telecommunications, where functional reliability and signal stability are critical. The silicone simultaneously fulfills the tasks of sealing, protecting, and shielding.
