Smart Seal Lighting

Smart Seal Lighting extends conventional silicone seals with an integrated lighting function. By combining silicone applications with targeted light guidance, a new solution is created where sealing and illumination are united in a single component.

The lighting is not added as a separate element but functionally integrated into the seal. This produces uniform, homogeneous light distribution along the entire length – for both functional and atmospheric applications. At the same time, the proven properties of silicone such as flexibility, tightness, and resistance are preserved.

Functional lighting directly integrated into the seal

The lighting function is realized through the integration of optical fibers directly into the seal. These handle the targeted light guidance within the silicone and enable precise and controlled light distribution.

High-performance optical fibers ensure homogeneous illumination, regardless of the length or geometry of the seal. This makes Smart Seal Lighting particularly suited for circumferential or segmented applications.

In addition to the lighting function, the component continues to fulfill its primary task as a seal. The light integration opens up additional design, orientation, and safety functions without complicating the system architecture.
